Welcome to the PATROL website, where you will be able to find out about how councils in England (outside London) and Wales make and enforce parking and bus lane regulations and issue tickets (known as "Penalty Charge Notices") to those who contravene them – and what the processes are for paying or challenging.

The site has been sponsored jointly by over 200 councils undertaking enforcement in accordance with existing Regulations, based on the Road Traffic Act (1991) and the Transport Act (2000) and in accordance with new regulations based on the Traffic Management Act 2004, which will come into force from 31 March 2008.
